North Somerset Nappies was created in 2008. We are an organisation that provides advice, support and loan kits to families who would like to use washable nappies.

We use the term washables throughout our website, but washable nappies are also referred to as reusable, real and cloth nappies in other places.

We work with North Somerset Council Waste Services team.

We also work with the nappy libraries of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Bath & North East Somerset in the Nappy Change for Good organisation.

In September 2019 we are making a few changes to the way that we work. We have offered free loan kits for the last ten years, and whilst we would like to continue to offer the service with no costs, this situation has become unsustainable. We are introducing a fee of £20 for loan kits. We do our best to help families in need so if financial circumstances are a barrier to your family trying out washable nappies, please contact us.

We are also phasing out visiting individual families in their home to conduct demos. Once the programme of events is established, you will now need to attend one of our group demos before borrowing a kit. If you would like to book a private consultation, to go though some nappies you have already bought, or you would prefer an individual demo, there is a small fee to cover the costs. See our loan kits page for more information.
